seems a strange combination - Celtic non-Christian religious observance (Halloween) and raising money for a Christian cause.

but how can you fault a church that has the U2charist!

Hi Andrew,
Yep, does have roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain but also in the Christian holiday All Saints' Day.

What a fun theme. RunnerDude are you organizing the event?

Hi! Thanks Irene! No, I'm not the race director, but a good running buddy of mine has been involved with the race since it's inception. Nice race, good course, fun fall theme and baked goods from the ladies at the church after the race!!!

This is Will, the RunnerDude's buddy who does the finish line and timing for the 5K. The pumpkin theme ties in with the pumpkin sale done on the front lawn of the church every October. Sometimes you do what it takes! Thanks for posting this, RunnerDude.
