You know you're a real runner when your first toenail turns black or better yet falls off. LOL! I have one toenail that's a permanent honorarium to my first Marathon (NYC '97) Still an odd looking little booger, but each time I clip it, I have fond memories of that first exhilarating day. (Okay, I know...I need to get out more.)
To celebrate the beauty that only a runner can love, RunnerDude's Blog is sponsoring The Ugliest Runner's Feet Contest! To enter, send RunnerDude a jpeg photo of your feet in all their glory to runnerdudeblog@yahoo.com. Be sure to put "Ugly Feet" in the subject line and then put your full name, location, and a little blurb about you and your "ugly feet" in the body of the email. You'll have until Friday, September 30th to submit your photo/entry. Then the first full week of October, all the entries will be posted for readers to view and vote on. Details on how to vote will be posted along with the photos. So, what are you waiting for, make a Kodak moment with your tootsies and send it in!
Oh yea! The winner gets a $75 gift card to RunningWarehouse.com! Hopefully he/she will buy better fitting shoes with the prize money. ;-)
Oh, I can't wait to see what you come up with!! I wish I had ugly feet for this picture!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda! Maybe I should have The Prettiest Runner's Feet Contest too! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove this contest. But I won't dare go without nail polish. : )
ReplyDeleteI agree. while I pound out multiple miles daily... I still don't forget my bi-weekly pedicure. We should have a prettiest feet contest!
ReplyDeleteToo funny - reminds me of the ugly feet contest some of us Blueliners had one year in the hotel hot tub after the Myrtle Beach Marathon. Our now-injured buddy Les won hands-down (or feet-down, I guess)!
ReplyDeleteHey Will! Not sure what's scarier....Les' feet or all the BlueLiners in a hot tub. Yikes! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think my wife could win. She wouldn't dare let me enter her. Maybe I can snap a pic when shes a sleep
ReplyDeleteHi Lance! If she wins the $75 gift card, she may not mind so much. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteDarn! Wish I had an ugly picture to send! My toenails are starting to look good now, after months of growing them back on and hiding bruises under bright pink polish. Just when I think I'm out of the woods, something happens that doesn't always have to do with running, as I don't run many miles a week anymore. "Something" like: dropping a suitcase on my big toe, an ice cube of all things falling from the freezer and hitting me squarely on the third toenail, turning it black. One toenail has a permanent disfigurement from my higher mileage running days. Oh, if feet could talk!
