It frustrates me when companies put whole wheat on the front of the package when the first ingredient is enriched wheat flour. And why is high fructose corn syrup in everything; even most yogurts. Yep, fruits contain fructose which is a simple sugar and that's what it's best not to drink just processed fruit juices because basically it's highly concentrated fructose. Fruits however, like apples, oranges and pears, are high in fiber as well as nutrient dense with vitamins. So while they may not technically be complex carbs I usually group them in with "Good Carbs."RunnerDudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15209079063314051451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6007050355748263232.post-1439227418508955182010-05-24T13:14:26.041-04:002010-05-24T13:14:26.041-04:00Great post! I didn't bonk at Mile 20 of the marathon (although I "ran" it rather slowly). Have you seen Gary Taubes' "Good Calories, Bad Calories"? Great book!Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08639309578283562929noreply@blogger.com
